Hey! I’m Lana. Lover of sunshine, Turquoise Waters, Craft Beer, harry potter, and of course, travel!
There are two things my parents instilled in me: a love of the ocean and a love of travel. Luckily, I’ve been able to combine them often throughout my life, visiting incredible places (like Bora Bora, the Bahamas, and Thailand) and swimming in their turquoise blue waters. Along the way, I’ve learned I have knack of planning trips and sharing my experiences with the world! In 2021, I officially launched Adventures by Lana so I could do just that! So welcome to page, and keep reading to learn more about how I got here!

the Wanderlust Bug
I was born and raised in South Florida. Growing up, my parents taught my sister and me the value of traveling to new places. Before the age of 18, I had visited Jamaica, the Bahamas, England, France, along with countless cities throughout the US, on family trips. Once I got to college, I made a point to continue traveling.. In 2014, I decided to go on my first solo trip and started planning my 2 week tour of Thailand. I was only 19, and people thought I was crazy, but it was one of the most incredible trips I’ve ever taken!
After Thailand, I used every spring break opportunity in college to visit a new country, like Mexico, Costa Rica & Germany. After graduating college in 2018, my best friend and I spent 3 weeks backpacking in Thailand and Bali. I did a majority of the planning since I had been to Thailand before, and I enjoyed every minute of it. During our trip, I took notes of where we ate, what we did, mistakes we made, and more. I realized how much information I had about traveling through those two countries, and the idea of Adventures by Lana was born.
Starting the Blog
My husband Cory and I got married in November 2019 in the beautiful Florida Keys (click here for my Florida Keys travel guide!). When it came to choosing a honeymoon location, we decided on a once in a lifetime vacation – Bora Bora. Overwater bungalows in French Polynesia were #1 on my bucket list, and we wanted to indulge – so, Bora Bora was an easy choice. We had the most amazing time; however, our honeymoon was in March of 2020, right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic! We weren’t even sure we were going to make it home.. the day we were flying out, French Polynesia started kicking foreigners out of the country!
Luckily we were able to get home with no hiccups. We immediately started working from home. I was working for Universal Studios at the time, which as you probably know was hit very hard by the pandemic! After a few months, my hours were reduced at work, and I had every Friday off.. I decided it was time to pull the trigger! I bought my domain name, starting getting the site set up, and writing blog posts. Then, I found out I was getting laid off, so I had to focus on finding a new job! It would take me another year to actually launch the site.. And on December 20, 2021, Adventures by Lana was born!
